On August 1st, the newly established federal government of Myanmar convened its first meeting in Naypyidaw. The new Prime Minister Nuzzur, ministers, deputy ministers, and officials attended the meeting.
Nuzzur chaired the meeting and delivered a speech, stating that the government must prioritize and maintain the stability of the federation, national unity, and sovereignty. It is imperative to follow and implement the four objectives set by the Defense and Security Committee. He called on the public to resolve differences and strive for peaceful coexistence on the path of multi-party democracy. Elections are crucial for moving towards multi-party democracy, which is also the will of the people, hence, the national leaders have informed the public that elections will be held this December.
Furthermore, Nuzzur also summarized the government’s recent efforts in areas such as economic development, agriculture, education, health, and environmental protection, as well as future plans and goals.
On July 31st, the Defense and Security Committee of Myanmar convened a meeting in Naypyidaw. The meeting decided to lift the nationwide state of emergency from August 1st and not to extend it further.
