On August 1st, local time, it was learned that the Chief of Staff of the Israeli Defense Forces, Zalmay, inspected the Israeli military forces in the Gaza Strip and together with senior commanders from the Southern Command, assessed the situation.
Zalmay stated that he expects to know within the next few days whether an agreement can be reached with the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) to release Israeli detainees.
Should an agreement not be reached, the Israeli military will continue its battle in the Gaza Strip without pause.
Zalmay also emphasized that the ongoing conflict continues, and Israel will adjust its military operations flexibly according to the changing realities and national interests. He mentioned that the Israeli military’s actions in the Gaza Strip have achieved significant results, providing operational flexibility for further strategic deployments. Zalmay refuted recent international claims about Israel creating a “famine crisis,” stating these are merely “false propaganda” by Hamas. He claimed responsibility for the deaths and sufferings of residents in the Gaza Strip lies with Hamas.
