
On August 16th, local time, Sudanese Prime Minister Idriss issued a video address, calling on relevant countries and armed organizations to stop recruiting mercenaries and sending them to Sudan to participate in the country’s armed conflict.
During his speech, Idriss called for a stop to the deployment of mercenaries in Sudan using Spanish, and expressed appreciation for the recent call by Colombian President Petro to legislate against Colombian citizens serving as mercenaries.
The Sudanese government accused the UAE on the 4th of this month of funding Colombian mercenaries to fight as part of the Rapid Support Forces against the Sudan Armed Forces.
On the 6th, Sudan National Television reported that Sudan Air Force had destroyed an Emirati aircraft carrying Colombian mercenaries in the capital of South Darfur State, Nialla, resulting in the death of dozens of mercenaries. Colombian President Petro called on the Congress to review the bill banning Colombian citizens from serving as mercenaries that night on social media.
On April 15th, 2023, the Sudan Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces爆发了武装冲突 in the capital Khartoum, and the fighting subsequently spread to other areas.
