On August 18th, Eastern Time, Ukrainian President Zelensky held a bilateral meeting with U.S. President Trump at the White House. Subsequently, many European leaders held multilateral meetings with Trump and Zelensky.
After the White House meeting, British Prime Minister Starmer said that Trump, Zelensky, and several European leaders had made “real progress” in Washington that day.
Starmer said the meeting brought two substantial achievements. One was that Putin and Zelensky would hold a meeting, and the other was that the “coalition of willing” would cooperate with the United States to provide security guarantees for Ukraine.
