According to the South Korea fire department on August 19, at around 11:40 local time, a train from Gyeongsan in Gyeonggi-do to Masan in Gyeongsangnam-do was passing through the town of Cheongdo when it hit seven railway workers who were conducting safety inspections. The accident resulted in two deaths, four serious injuries, and one minor injury.
