On the 20th local time, the Director of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency in the Near East, Philippe Lazzarini, stated that nearly 100,000 children under the age of five in Gaza have undergone an investigation by the agency since March. According to the survey results, the number of malnourished children in Gaza is now three times that of March, and the malnutrition rate among children in Gaza City is six times higher than before the breakdown of the ceasefire agreement.
Philippe Lazzarini emphasized that this is an artificially caused famine. The UN Relief and Works Agency in the Near East and other aid organizations have been unable to deliver supplies to Gaza for nearly six months. The agency has stored aid materials in warehouses in Egypt and Jordan that could fill 6,000 trucks, including three months of food supplies. (Reported by Zhu He, Central Desk)
