
On August 22nd local time, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov expressed in an interview that Russia agrees to adopt a flexible attitude towards the issues raised by US President Trump during the Alaska talks. Lavrov said that currently, Russian President Putin and Ukrainian President Zelensky have no plans to meet, and there is no agenda for such a summit.
Lavrov stated that during his meeting with Trump in Washington, Zelensky rejected all the peace proposals made by Trump, including giving up joining NATO and discussing territorial issues.
Previously, Lavrov had emphasized that Russia is willing to cooperate and dialogue in various forms, but high-level meetings must be fully prepared and cannot be conducted lightly.
Trump and Putin held a meeting on August 15th at the Elmendorf-Richardson Joint Military Base in Anchorage, Alaska, to discuss issues such as Ukraine and Russia-US relations.
