On August 22nd, local time, according to the New York State Police, a sightseeing bus with 52 people overturned on I-90 interstate highway in Pembroke, New York State, resulting in multiple deaths and injuries, including children.
New York State Governor Hochul said that his office is working closely with the police and local governments to coordinate rescue and aftermath issues. The New York State Attorney General described the incident as “heartbreaking”.
All lanes at the accident site were closed at one time, causing traffic congestion. Currently, rescue and cleanup work are still ongoing. (By Xu Tao)
