On August 22nd, local time, in response to the recent claim by the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) about supporting the crackdown on Mexican drug trafficking groups, Mexican President Sinbaum reiterated that Mexico is a free, independent, and sovereign country that does not allow any interference, and no foreign government can violate its national sovereignty.

On the 21st, the director of the DEA claimed that the agency would support President Trump’s decision to crack down on Mexican drug trafficking groups.
In response to this, Sinbaum emphasized that such a situation would never be allowed to happen. Mexico has national strength rooted in its people and the will represented by its elected government, as well as the strength of the international community. In the face of any attempts, Mexico will stand as its national anthem sings: “Every child is a warrior.”
Recent US media reports have revealed that US President Trump has secretly signed an order authorizing the Pentagon to launch military operations against drug trafficking groups in Latin America, including Mexico. In response, Sinbaum made a strong response on August 8th, explicitly stating that the US military would not enter Mexican territory and emphasizing that “Mexico will not be invaded.” (Reported by Ma Tianjing and Sheng Jiadai from the Central Station)
